The University of Dundee is a public university located in Dundee, Scotland. It was founded in 1881. In addition to Dundee, it also has a few research institutes in other parts of Scotland. School motto (Latin): magicat anima mea dominium (my soul praises the Lord). There are 18000 students and 3000 teaching staff.

In 2005, the school was rated the first in teaching quality in the UK by the times, including social services, biotechnology and architecture. In addition, the school was named the best university in Scotland in 2004-05 by the Sunday Times.

For most of its history, it has been part of the Federation of St Andrews University. The school became independent after extensive expansion in 1967, but it retained many of its ancient customs and management structures. After independence, it gradually grew into an internationally famous educational research center.

The main campus of the university is located in Dundee's west district. There are also some facilities in other parts of the city and outside the city, such as fife. Dundee University is famous for its traditional studies such as law, medicine and dentistry, as well as some emerging studies such as life science and art.
